Sundays at Home {Link Party}

I hope you're having a great weekend!

We just returned from a road-trip over the mountains to Spokane, Washington, where our oldest son's 8th grade basketball team competed in the State Basketball Tournament. It was an exciting time where so many memories were made. It's hard to believe the season is over...

Speaking of seasons, we're only days away from Spring! We hope you'll enjoy all the spring inspiration that is shared in this week's party. A big thank you to all of you who link up your projects here for us all to enjoy!

So Far This Year at Little Farmstead... (Part 2)

Hi Friends! How is your week going? I had so much fun seeing several of your porches on Facebook this past week! We even had someone from Australia post a picture of the kangaroos who visit her property. So cool! Blogging can start to feel pretty one-sided at times, so it was refreshing to get to look at pictures of your homes and comment on them. I'd love to do that more, so if you'd like, please join me on Facebook here.

Last week I shared Part 1 of So Far This Year, and here's Part 2...
(Just click on the picture or the caption below the picture to read the full post!)

This one-of-a-kind chippy hutch was a hit on Instagram. It has been a great display piece in our shop space and now will be going to a new - actually old - home built in 1926. I love it when customers are excited to find just the piece they've been looking for!

Sundays at Home {Link Party}

The forecast is calling for at least two FULL days of sun here in Seattle. Not partly sunny. The real deal.
And wait, there's more... we could hit the 60's!

Now, if you are planning to visit Seattle this weekend from a warmer climate, I will warn you... There will be tennis and basketball played sans shirts for the guys, a run on froyo and popsicles, and all the garden shops will be bustling!

We are so ready for spring! I'm guessing you are too.
You've come to the right place for fresh ideas, and we're so happy you're here...

So far this year at little farmstead... (Part 1)

As we head into spring, and find ourselves already in the third month of 2018, I want to thank each of you for visiting and reading along here on the blog. It really means a lot to me. I'm grateful for your comments, and also for those of you who connect with me through social media. Thank you!

I thought this would be a good time to round up posts this year to date, some of which you may not have seen.
(Looking back, even I'd already forgotten about some of them. Life is full, isn't it? ;)

Our {Almost} Spring Farmhouse Porch

We spent most of the weekend in basketball gyms. Our 8th grader's team had and amazing championship win - it was SO exciting (think David vs. Goliath - or at least 4A vs.1A)! Many of these boys have been playing together since Kindergarten, so it was a special way to end their last regular season before high school. High School?! I can't even...

Speaking of basketball - or balls in general - they often end up on our porch. And they seem to multiply like rabbits. I cleaned up our porch last week, and I always forget how nice it feels.

We're ready for you, spring. You can come now.

The Morrow House {Part 2}

Welcome back to Part 2 of this incredible renovation story. If you missed Part 1, you're going to want to read it first - trust meI don't know about you, but there are pieces of Amy's story that I don't think I'll ever forget. Sweet truths are tucked into her faith-filled words that bring so much encouragement and comfort to whichever stage of life we find ourselves in. And then there's the dream and determination to renovate a historic home that happened to be scheduled for demolition in just days! Let's continue...

Sundays at Home {Link Party}

Welcome back to Sundays at Home. Look how happy our ducks are to see you!

(I probably shouldn't tell you about their perma-smiles, because I am sure it is you they are glad to see. However, there have been occasions when our dogs have gotten into their area and are chasing them, and the ducks look like they are smiling with joy as they run for their lives! You cannot wipe the smiles off their faces even if you tried. ;)

We are so glad you joined us and hope you all are having a lovely weekend.

Because of you, this weekly party is growing in
participation and inspiration. Thank you!

Before we jump into the party, here's what your hosts have been up to this week...

An Inspiring Home Renovation Story: The Morrow House {Part 1}

You may remember this home's charming exterior (pictured at the end of this post) from Season 5, Episode 1 of Fixer Upper. Joanna Gaines commented on the house, "I feel like a dog with a T-bone steak, I am like please give ME the T-bone steak!" She wanted to get hold of this house. However, the first-time home buyers on the episode, who were shown house hunting with the Gaines', selected a different home to suit their needs.

We don't often get to see what became of the other homes.

But today, I'm excited to share with you what became of this historic home, thanks to its visionary owner, Amy, and decades of dreams. When I first saw pictures of the home on Instagram, I was compelled to find out more about it. This house is not only stunning, but it has got soulThe story of how it came to be does not disappoint. Enjoy...

Farmhouse Style Home Office Makeover

It's official. I have completed one monthly home improvement task that I had written down in my 2018 planner: making over my home office area. Never mind that I had written it down as a "January" goal. ;)
